| 内容記述 | 目的 東日本大震災後の栃木県における自殺の動向を明らかにする。 方法 2008年１月から2011年６月までの間に栃木県内で発生したすべての自殺者のデータ（警察データ）と，警察庁が公表している自殺統計を用いて記述疫学研究を行った。 結果 2008-2010年の総自殺者数は栃木県で1,795人，全国で96,784人であり，2011年上半期では栃木県で281人，全国で15,906人であった。2011年上半期における栃木県の月別自殺率３月から５月にかけて増加していた。栃木県では，４月は45-64歳と65歳以上の男女で身体の病気の悩みによる自殺が多く，５月は20-44歳と45-64歳の男，20-44歳の女でうつ病の悩みによる自殺が多かった。 結論 東日本大震災の後，全国と同様に栃木県においても自殺率の増加がみられた。被災地の周辺地域においても地域資源を活用した自殺予防を早期に開始するべきなのかもしれない。 |

| 内容記述 | Objectives： To observe suicide trends in Tochigi prefecture following the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake off the Pacific coast of Japan, and consider suicide prevention after earthquakes. Methods： This was a descriptive epidemiologic analysis of data related to suicides occurring from January 2008 through June 2011 in Tochigi prefecture. Tochigi police had maintained these data after investigation of each corpse. National suicide statistics maintained by the National Police Agency and available to the public were used for comparison. Results： In the first half of 2011, 281 in Tochigi prefecture and 15,906 throughout Japan committed suicide. No differences in suicide characteristics were found between the two groups. Suicide rates during increased similarly in both groups from March through May 2011. This trend was different from the same period during the years 2008 through 2010. In Tochigi prefecture, the suicide rate of elderly people（ 65 years and older, both sexes） was high in April, and that among men 45-64 years of age and women 20-44 years of age increased further in May. The most frequent objective reasons were health concerns, in both sexes. In April, physical illness was cited most frequently for both sexes of 45-64 and 65+ years of age, and, in May, depression for men 20-44 and 45-64 years of age and 20-44 year-old women. Conclusion： After the earthquake, the suicide rate increased similarly in Tochigi prefecture and throughout Japan. Prevention of suicide by utilizing community resources should be emphasized early for those living near areas affected by natural disasters. |
